Community/Labor Conversation on the Achievement and Opportunity Gap in SF Schools
When: Saturday March 23 10am to 1pm
Where: Cesar Chavez Elementary School 825 Shotwell St. SFCommunity based organizations, service providers, teachers, parents, students, and others invested in public education in San Francisco are invited to discuss and develop strategies for addressing the opportunity gap in our public schools.* Light meal served. Free parking. WHY: TAYSF and WISF Youth Council will convene a forum with city departments, education institutions, service providers and young people on how best to re-engage 17-24 year-olds on a track towards a high school diploma, GED, or post-secondary degree. ✓Raise awareness of the need to re-engage TAY in education
✓Increase awareness of existing resources & the gaps
✓Identify challenges to be addressed
✓Identify and agree on next steps to work on this issue as a City!
