At E4FC, we understand that serving undocumented students takes unique and specific information. We provide FREE on-site presentations to students, parents and educators in order to support undocumented students in realizing their dreams of college, career and citizenship.

Our Outreach Team is committed to supporting educators throughout the Bay Area by providing workshops that cover tools and effective practices to support, advocate and empower undocumented young people. To date, our Outreach Team has reached over 50,000 students, parents and educators.

Meet E4FC’s 2014-2015 Outreach Ambassadors

We have 22 Outreach Ambassadors trained and ready to deliver information, resources, and, most of all, inspiration at schools and community organizations throughout the Bay Area and beyond! It is easy to request an on-site presentation, just click here. In two to three weeks, you will have an E4FC Outreach Ambassador (or two) on site.

Our presentations cover a wide range of topics relevant to undocumented students’ needs, including:

  • Success stories of inspirational undocumented college students and graduates
  • Information on accessing in-state tuition for undocumented students
  • State-based financial aid (California Dream Act) and loans (DREAM Loan)
  • Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (protection from deportation & three-year work permit for eligible youth)
  • Connection to resources, including scholarship lists, financial aid guides, and immigration legal services

Our core belief is that undocumented students are fully capable of achieving their biggest dreams with the right information, resources, connections and action. We also believe that the best role models for undocumented youth are other undocumented young people who have themselves successfully enrolled and/or graduated from college.

This year, we have recruited and trained 22 Outreach Ambassadors, all college students or college graduates, who have navigated many of the same obstacles that undocumented youth face today. Our hope is that our Outreach Ambassadors’ experience, wisdom and stories can inspire undocumented youth to pursue their dreams. Our Ambassadors are available to make presentations in 13 counties, including San Francisco, Alameda, and Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Yolo, Merced and Sacramento.

“I am an undocumented student that truly knows the struggles of our community. I have been an advocate for undocumented students throughout my entire academic career and this will help me inspire other students to believe that their struggles are not bigger than their dreams. I came to the USA because of poverty and a lack of opportunities. I have worked really hard to pay for school with scholarships and be able to accomplish my dream of higher education.“—Katiuska Pimentel Vargas, Santa Cruz Region

The process to book a presentation/workshop is simple. Please submit the Online Outreach Request Form and our Outreach Coordinator, Rocio Preciado, will email you within one week to schedule a call to go over the details, goals and needs of your request.

“This was a fabulous presentation. The attendees left with many ideas and with the hope that they can really do something important for the undocumented students with whom they work.”—Liz Wolfe, Administrator, San Mateo County Office of Education

Please feel free to forward this to anyone who could also benefit from this free service. We sincerely hope that we can support you in better serving the students in your community!
