Do you want to meet other youth that are supporting Tobacco Use Prevention?

Do you want to be an advocate for teen health?

Then  join  the  Teens  Tackle  Tobacco  Leadership  Team!

School Health Programs Office will work with the Teens Tackle Tobacco Leadership (TTTL) Team by providing trainings and support utilizing the Community Advocate Model. Youth will be empowered to create positive change in local communities and sustain positive youth and adult partnerships. Youth in other community groups will be honorary members of SFUSDs TTTL in order to collaborate with them on advocacy issues.

  • The TTTL Team will consist of ten youth from across the SFUSD in grades 9 to 12;
  • The TTTL Team will meet six to eight times a year, mainly after school and one Saturday;
  • The TTTL will collaborate with other youth serving groups;
  • The members of the TTTL and other youth groups will participate in a Youth Development/Youth Advocacy sub-committee;
  • The TTTL Team, with support from the Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA) and Tobacco Trainer/Consultant, will plan a district-wide Anti-tobacco Advocacy Project that all schools will participate in each year on Kick Butts Day. In order to affect change surveys and interviews will be conducted prior to completing the project;
  • To counter the influence of the tobacco industry a “Media Literacy and Youth Media Production” and PSA Contest will be sponsored by the TTTL and partners, such as the Department of Public Health (DPH), Youth Leadership Institute (YLI), and BREATHE;
  • TTTL Team members will receive a stipend of $250 for completion of above mentioned duties.
