Screen Shot 2013-11-26 at 1.01.05 PMPlease attend Youth UpRising on December 5th for an opening reception and viewing of sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt to honor World AIDS Day and HIV/AIDS awareness.

“The Quilt is an emotionally moving testament to those whose lives have been impacted by HIV and AIDS – not only those who have passed away from the disease, but their friends, families and communities who remain to tell the stories of their loved ones. The experience is a celebration of life and a vehicle for thought andvaluable discussion about how we continue to increase awareness and work together to end the pandemic that has impacted our community.

Join us from 4:00-5:30pmas we hear from local leaders and direct service providers about the state of HIV and AIDS in Alameda County, test your knowledge about HIV and AIDS (we have prizes!), and network with local organizations who provide resources, education, and care for those living with HIV or AIDS.

Please RSVP by Dec 2nd.  Feel free to pass this invitationon to your Alameda County networks – we expect participation at the local, county, and state levels.

The Quilt will continue to be on display for public viewing through December 11th. Please see the attachment to this email for information to schedule a guided viewing/workshop for your group.
